One voice for Citizens Advice in Surrey
We provide advice, information and advocacy to people affected by cancer in Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath and to those living outside these three areas if they are terminally ill.
By working with community organisations and health and social care professionals, we ensure those newly diagnosed with cancer are informed about our service and how to access it.
It is important that people are aware of their options and entitlement to welfare benefits from an early stage. This will enable the patient to concentrate on their treatment rather than worrying about money problems. Knowing all options available may mean their recovery is not set back by returning to work too soon.
We can also signpost our clients for counselling services, social services assessments, support groups and help to find appropriate services in their area.
It has always been our aim to be able to expand the Macmillan Welfare Rights service. For more information about how our Macmillan Welfare Rights Service could help people in your area, please visit their Macmillan Welfare Rights Service.
